The Rise of the Mini-Moon
According to a recent survey conducted by BedandBreakfast.com, 30 percent of couples who plan to wed in the next year also plan to take a shortened honeymoon. These “mini-moons” typically last a few days. Rather than a week +, a couple would take a weekend, for instance. Rather than forgoing the romantic trip altogether, more couples are opting to take one, or more, mini-moons. Many B&Bs, hotels, resorts, and travel agencies are taking notice; you will find it much easier to find accommodations and packages for these mini-honeymoons. Some excellent ideas include short jaunts to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Myrtle’s Beach, or Martha’s Vineyard, but if that is not going to work for your budget, think a bit more locally. Every area of the country has interesting inns, B&Bs, and hotels; every area has something to offer, whether it is peaceful solitude or a bustling cosmopolitan feel. You can “escape” without going far at all. Driving an hour or two can help decrease the pressure on your wallet and schedule while providing you with a romantic getaway that you want. Mini-moons are the perfect way to celebrate your marriage and keep costs under control. Posted by: Amy on October 7 2011 at 01:46 PM |
